Summary

Sighișoara is a historic town in Romania, with an inhabited hilltop citadel. Towers, churches and coloured buildings connect through streets that preserve the form of a fortified urban centre.

Its coherence makes the town particularly legible. Defensive structures and ordinary houses form part of the same compact landscape, with continuing daily life adding depth to the historic appearance.
