Summary

Niue is a raised coral island in the South Pacific. Coastal caves, chasms and rocky shores distinguish it from low sandy atolls, with island communities occupying a landscape shaped by former reef structures.

The difference in form is its attraction. Exposed coral rock reveals another kind of Pacific island, where geology creates intimate coastal spaces as well as broad ocean views.
