Southern Africa: mountain, falls, delta

Cape Town, Victoria Falls and the Okavango bring together city-and-coast scenery, a great river spectacle and a wetland safari. This route works best with a deliberately small number of bases.

Choose your window

June to August can suit the falls and delta, but Cape Town is in winter. September offers a different balance, with water levels and conditions varying by year.

The important detail

Water activities depend on location and water levels. Ask the camp what is realistically available during your dates, rather than assuming every delta stay includes the same experiences.

Regional flight or road link, then camp transfer. Treat the gateway and camp approach as a full travel operation.

Ask the camp or specialist operator to confirm the entire chain, luggage conditions and a realistic buffer before international departure.
