Better travel decisions

Seychelles or Galápagos?

An island holiday and a wildlife journey ask different things of you.

The useful answer

Choose Seychelles if your ideal trip centres on island scenery, beaches and time at a relaxed base. Choose Galápagos if wildlife observation and natural history are the main purpose. Both are island worlds, but the planning logic is very different.

This is a comparison of travel priorities, not a claim that Seychelles lacks wildlife or that Galápagos lacks beautiful shores.

Decide what should organise the trip

In Seychelles, a particular island, beach exposure and style of accommodation can lead the decision. In Galápagos, the islands and species you hope to understand should shape the authorised route and the choice between a land-based stay and a cruise.

Think about the sea as transport

Wind, swell and water conditions matter wherever a boat journey connects your experiences. A generally drier month in Seychelles is not automatically the calmest at sea. Galápagos also has meaningful warm- and cool-season marine differences.

Choose depth over a generic island label

A relaxed Seychelles stay can be complete with a few carefully chosen excursions. Galápagos rewards close attention to conservation rules, responsible providers and route restrictions. Compare the experience you want each day before comparing hotel photographs.
