A journey worth taking

The three cities make a compelling conversation about architecture. In Seville, courtyards connect indoor and outdoor space. Córdoba draws the eye through repeated columns and arches. Granada brings water, inscriptions, gardens and distant views into an extraordinary sequence.

Travel between the cities with generous margins, then explore each on foot in small blocks. A compact itinerary can still feel spacious if the great interiors are separated by ordinary streets, cafés and time to look again.

Choose your pace

A starting outline

For a shorter version, combine Seville and Córdoba. Save Granada for a visit with time to enjoy the Alhambra and the city around it.

Add time for neighbourhood walks, gardens and an extra slow evening in each city.

Every transfer is allocated separately from the sightseeing days. Arrival at the first base and departure from the last are outside this outline.

Seville

Balance the cathedral and Alcázar with the lived city. Trace how a courtyard provides shade, how a street frames a tower and how a garden changes the pace of a visit. Give Triana or another neighbourhood a separate period of exploration rather than squeezing it between timed entries.

Suggested base: Seville. Allow 3 days here.

Mezquita Cordoba

Visit the Mezquita with enough time to look at the changing rhythm of the interior. Then explore the historic streets and river setting. Resist treating Córdoba as only a quick stop between two larger cities: an overnight stay gives the city a different pace.

Suggested base: Córdoba. Allow 2 days here.

Alhambra

Separate the Alhambra from a day in the Albaicín and the lower city. At the palace complex, follow a sequence of spaces and materials rather than rushing between famous photographic positions. Look back towards the hill from the city to understand the setting.

Suggested base: Granada. Allow 3 days here.

Season and practical choices

When to consider it

Spring and autumn are useful starting points for walking. Summer heat changes the daily rhythm; put exposed walks early and allow a long indoor or shaded interval.

Access and arrangements

Use the official attraction booking sites. In Granada, choose the precise Alhambra ticket and entry arrangements before placing it in a day plan.
